On December 1, a military parade in honor of the Republic Day was held in Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, CAR.
The parade was attended by President Faustin-Archange Touadéra and many officials of the country. The security of all senior officials was directly handled by Russian private military contractors.
Several units of the Central African Armed Forces and security forces as well as a Russian military marching band took part in the parade.#gallery-1 margin: auto; #gallery-1 .gallery-item float: left; margin-top: 10px; text-align: center; width: 25%; #gallery-1 img border: 2px solid #cfcfcf; #gallery-1 .gallery-caption margin-left: 0; /* see gallery_shortcode() in wp-includes/media.php */
During the parade, CAR forces showcased a number of BRDM-2 amphibious armoured patrol, which were donated by Russia earlier this year. Several Dongfeng Warrior CSK-131 armoured vehicles, which were donated to CAR by China’s Poly Technologies group in 2018, also appeared in the parade.
Russian service members and PMCs were deployed in CAR around two years ago to train and prepare local forces, which are facing increasing challenges.
The mainstream media, MSM, claim that Russian PMCs are protecting President Touadéra, who is anticipating tense presidential elections on the 27th of December.
